Meet the Team: SinapTec
17 January, 2024
What are your main tasks in the project?
SinapTec is involved as ultrasonic technology provider in WP3, which aims to degrade PFAS compounds. Our tasks are to design ultrasonic systems that can offer a chemical effect on PFAS compounds and to understand what the chemical degrading routes of these compounds using ultrasounds are. We also want to help the involved partners to understand ultrasounds. Many of them are using ultrasonic systems in their own experiments, but do not understand the main effects.
What are your goals?
The main objective of our company is to provide the best ultrasonic technology we can, based on 40 years of experience. At the final step, we hope being able to treat water in large scales and making it safer to be drunk and to be used in agriculture.
Our personal goal is also to better understand the main effects of our technology on such complex chemical matrixes and probably propose such similar solutions in chemical industries.
What do you particularly like about the project?
We most like about the project that it brings together academic and industrial partners with the very same goal: To understand how a complex chemical pollutant can migrate from one environment to another, how to degrade it and, more importantly, how it can be eliminated from nature.
How does your work help the general public?
The ultrasonic technology is widely used in the people’s life, even if they are not really aware of it. For example, our recent development permitted us to offer new solutions for therapeutic and medical applications. So we think that these technologies can be used in such applications that have direct impact on people.
