Achieving zero pollution by 2050 needs regulatory change: a call for policy support of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs)
Together with our sister projects from the Green Deal Support Office - ZeroPM and SCENARIOS - we published a joint policy brief on the use of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) to better achieve zero pollution. Using key findings from our three projects, we formulated five main recommendations for policymakers.

Developing effective strategies to tackle persistent, mobile and toxic substances in the soil-sediment-water system: Tools and boundary conditions from the Horizon 2020 Project PROMISCES
The PROMISCES policy brief (D5.3) identifies regulatory gaps and urgent concerns related to PM(T) substances in Europe. It presents data analysis on high-risk sectors, stakeholder insights on barriers and solutions, and initial Decision Support Framework (DSF) concepts to support Zero Pollution and Circular Economy Action Plans.

In Deliverable D5.8, the PROMISCES project addresses the urgent need for harmonized regulation of PM(T) substances, including PFAS, which pose risks to human and environmental health. PROMISCES identifies regulatory gaps, proposes nine evidence-based recommendations aligned with EU policy frameworks, and advocates for a coordinated, multi-stakeholder approach to managing these substances across soil, water, and sediment systems.
